lvn to rn programs where should i go

Published

I just recently finished an lvn program in southern cali. I would love to get my rn but the community colleges pre-reqs are to long and so is the waiting list Im 23 and Im on a time limit. Is there any lvn-rn program through private schools or even an online program ( One that's reputible) .I would love your input. Thanks alot!:nurse:

Western Career College in Sacramento, CA has the LVN to RN program. I am currently in my 2nd term. THey offer all the prereqs and give you credit for what you do have. It is very costly but worth it.

West Coast University has a LVN to RN program. Cost like $50,000 bucks though.:uhoh3: No prereqs needed. Just have to be a LVN. Its on the campus of American Career College in Los Angeles. HTH

just curious to ask some questions. i may possibly be signing up with excelsior. how did you like the program? i'm from california....are the clinicals local?

It depends on where you live. I live in Orange county and am in the same boat as you soon. I know in riverside the hospital will pay you your full time LVN salary while sending you to get your RN in exchange for working for them after. You can look on I think hotjobs has Ads for them

good luck.

I personally have not used the program, but Indiana State University does have an online LVN to RN program that is accepted by the state of CAlifornia, because they are partnered somehow with a college in Cali. I am actually thinking of going through them. Good Luck.

I was told by an instructor from my previous school that once I am done with LVN, to transfer my credits to West Coast University for their LVN-RN program. And that is what I am hoping to do. :D

WestCoast University in LA , you can go there with no pre reqs (18 month program lvn to rn) BUT there's a hefty price tag .

i m also live in sanjose....i m LVN .......and i also dont wanna go communinty college for my RN to waste my time there....

right no unitek college has lvn to RN....but IME ( institute of medical education ) they are almost 80 % done with there process and they told me in 6 months we have RN too...

also i called st francis career college they also said they are also in process to open RN...

because they already open RN program in LA location........

western career college also has RN....

i was an instructor there and was led to believe the same thing. They have not been approved for their LVN to RN transition program. They don't know when its going to happen now.
