Can anyone give me suggestions. I'm currently feeling sad because I want to go back to school but i have to wait for applications and all I'm doing is working at a snf. Lets say I hungry for more education and I want to be a rn already I'm 22 btw. what should I do. what do you think about applying to a 2 year bsn program despite the amount of money.I thinking about going national university for the lvn to bsn program ( (I still have to take two classes before applying at national, what if I don't get in? waste of money?) Although im still interested in taking the adn program in other various community colleges. As you know there are more and more info about how hospitals taking only BSN new grads vs hardly any ADNs (trying to be magnet hospital). I live in San Diego California. help please.

Please look at the dates of the posts you are replying to. You are responding to many posts that are well over 6 months old since the last reply in the thread. Also, please note that not everyone you are replying to is in the state of CA. Going to a Cal State is only really affordable to CA residents because of in state tuition. For people who live out of state they pay a much higher amount. Lastly, unless the CSU offered an online LVN-BSN bridge, your suggestion to people to look into attending a CSU is a moot point unless they plan on relocating for school.

To the person who swears TCN is so great. Perhaps you're so angry because you know deep inside that was a mistake which is why you're coming off as bitter and very vindictive. Shame on you

I don't work in a LTC but others do so for you to make that type of comment shows the type of character you have that will most likely spill into the workplace. Good luck with that.

Yes you are the one paying that money but we were just trying to help so don't have such a pissy attitude next time when someones trying to give sound advice. You're probably still paying off those unnecessary loans as we speak.

So for college network if u done with your lpn it will take 2 years to complete de bsn program. For college network on your degree what will it say on it.wht school name will it say on it.

The college network is not a school. It's a publishing company currently subject to a class action lawsuit in OH and under investigation by the FTC. All costs for their study materials are not eligible for financial aid and are in addition to all of the costs and fees from that actual school. TCN cannot legally offer academic advising nor can they guarantee admission. The material is not guaranteed to be accurate as they are neither affiliated with nor endorsed by the school.

Distance challenge LPN to ASN/RN is available direct through Excelsior College but not accepted in CA and several states have additional requirements for licensure.

ISU LPN to BSN is accepted by many states but not all (such as NY & CA).

No. The only online LPN to BSN is ISU. Since LPN is vocational there are usually no college credits involved. You could do excelsior LPN to ASN (challenge exam) then do one of the dozens of RN to BSN that are fully online.

Oh ok,how long is the excelsior lpn to asn,do u just take de challenge exam and you pass it then thats it.thank you so much

No. You take challenge exams in part one. Then there is the FCCA which is an online course. You finish with a 3 day clinical proficiency in nursing examination which is an in person challenge to prove your clinical & assessment skills are on the level of a new grad RN. You have 3 lab stations with skills that must be performed without error per the standards provided (wound care, medications) then you have 3 actual patients that you must assess, create competent care plans for and complete specific clinical skills. There is no clinical instruction or coaching in the CPNE. It's pass or fail. You are challenging to prove you are competent without attending a traditional RN program with clinical rotations. You need to be a self-motivated independent learner confident in your assessment and clinical skills. There is a forum dedicated to EC with FAQ/sticky threads that can answer many of your questions. It's not a cheaper option cost wise but it is usually less time than a typical program depending on your knowledge, motivation and skills.

Oh ok thank you ao much

I just attended the information session @ West Coast University. This is pretty much the only on-campus school I have found in California where they offer LVN to BSN. I'm still in need of some pre-requisites. I was advised by a student to take as many pre-reqs as I can in the community college first and then transfer those to WCU. I am going to take the HESI next week. I'm excited to see what happens.

Oh ok thank u so much ,i live in nyc and was looking for something online.

West Coast University does not have a NY campus. Tuition can be over $125,000 for a BSN with minimal federal aid available.
