LvN requiring Cgfns

I am a Filipino Nurse and tried to apply for NCLEX PN because i could not sit for NCLEX RN due to the concurrency issue.

After long months of waiting. I have received a letter from BVNPT that i need my transcripts evaluated by a credentialing agency such as CGFNS. I was surprised because i never have had heard that lvn needs cgfns evaluation. Does anyone have the same experience as me? And what happened after?

did you receive a letter from bvnpt?

yes. They said that as of April 1, 2016, in addition to application requirements, the board is requiring all equivalency applicants foreign nursing transcripts be evaluated by a nationally accredited credentialing agency to provide secondary confirmation of requirements.

and they also said that the transcript should be submitted directly to the board with school sealed so now i dont know if where do i need to send it first, cgnfs or board? :(

try calling bnvpt so you will know what to do first. what happened to me is that i send my application together with the sealed enveloped from my school, (i didn't know that they have a new rule regarding foreign graduates) and after long months of waiting i received a letter from them that i need my credentials to be evaluated by credentialing agency. i've been calling bvnpt and i never encounter any rude agents. :)

So I emailed them (I tried calling but it was impossible to talk to someone) and here is their reply: "You need to contact one of the credentialing agencies and they will tell you what they need from you. When they have completed their evaluation of your education documents, they will send it directly to the Board. As soon as that is received, your application will be re-evaluated again without a wait."

I thought I made a mistake with my application but glad I read this post. Has anyone submitted their transcript to CGFNS already?

I already registered to CGFNS and I pay $350, now my school is processing my papers and they will send it directly to CGFNS, also my license verification is already done just waiting for it to arrive at the CGFNS office. Once all the documents needed by CGFNS are complete they will begin to evaluate, as what I read on their website it will take up 5-12 weeks, but they will give you a choice if you wanted it to be evaluated faster you have to pay another $250.

Can you share all the steps you did for your license verification? I think I read it that you need to have a notarized SPA for those who are not in the Philippines. Thank you

You should register first to CGFNS so you can print the form, i photocopied my license and other identification card with authorization letter with signature, but they dont want to acknowledge the photocopied license, they want the real one. Like, ugh the person who process my papers went though alot, good thing I was not able to get my lupon before, so she first process the lupon then went back for the verification, then they found out that my license was expired that it has to be renewed before the verification could be process because CFGNS they do not accept expired license.

Hello everyone. I just want to update that I already received my eligibility letter from the board to be able to sit to NCLEX PN exam. Once Cgfns submit their evaluation to the board I received my eligibility letter after 3 days.

Wow! Finally you'd be able to take the test! What happened with your license verification? Were you able to waive it? Or you requested for it to be validated in the Philippines?

My school already mailed my transcript to CGFNS but the status at cgfns still says waiting to be received. I thought I could request for my license verification to be waived but the board says if the cgfns was asking for it then maybe it is needed for my evaluation. So now I have to wait again, I just sent the forms for license validation to my sister who'll process it for me. I just hope PRC won't ask for my actual license, I only sent her a photocopy.

I requested my license validation in PRC because CGFNS was asking for it even the board said I dont need it. I asked PRC to ship my validation thru fed ex so it would be faster. Prc was pretty quick processing my application, they was able to ship to fed ex after 3 business days.

I opted to have my cgfns expedited so I paid extra $250. It was quick because as soon as they received everything from school and prc they already submitted the evaluation to the board after 5 days and then I received the letter from the board after 3 days.
