Hello Everybody,

This is my first time posting, I am hoping to start the Lvn program at Concorde in Arlington, Tx in June or October. Is there anybody else out there who has attended Concorde if so how was your experience with the LVN program. I have wanted to be a nurse but like many others I started taking my pre requisites and never completed. I am 34 yrs old, a single mom of a 10 yr old and I have decided this is the route I would like to go. I'm so excited but also nervous about this bcuz I know it's very demanding and time consuming. This has been a life long dream and I have made up mind to go through the program Just would like some input from others who have attended the program on what it was like . I will be attending the part time program M,T,W 6-10pm every other weekend 8-8. Thanks for any words of wisdom or advice in advance.

Hello! I am a current part-time LVN student at Concorde Arlington. I am excited to finally see a Concorde student (future student in your case) on this forum. I started 2/11 this year and so far I have enjoyed the program. You get out of it what you're willing to invest; time is the most important. The staff and instructors are friendly and helpful for the most part. I would just say stay away from the drama and cliques, which appear to be standard in most nursing schools, based on what I have read on this forum. You mentioned the same hours that were quoted to me when I started; however, you will not have 12 hour weekend days until you start clinicals in the 2nd term, 6a-6p. Non-clinical weekend days have been 8a-5p.

If you guys don't mind me asking, how much is the program. I'm in the Dallas area and I am trying to find which school offers the cheapest tuition.

Also for the current Concorde student, where do your clinicals take place?

The part time program is $28k , full time program is $26k. I have completed the whole process I'm just waiting to see if I get accepted into the June program if not I'm guaranteed a spot in the Oct. program.

They are mostly LTC around DFW and Charlton. I have been told that the highest GPA's get 1st pick of facility. My class will not start clinicals until June.

Hi. I too am a future Concorde Arl LVN student. I start May 6 in the full time 8-6 Mon-Fri class and I am very excited! ?

@nhube on your weekday classes do they keep you exactly till 10pm?? I know you are in your first term what has been your hardest class so far? Thanks

No, we are released @ 9:50 each night. The hardest class for me thus far has been Pharmacology. I'm in it now. There is a lot of memorization involved; drugs, side affects; nursing implications. I sailed through the classes before it but Pharmacology has required quite a bit more effort.

Thank you so much your information has been very informative. I appreciate it:)

I'm in Dallas and just graduated but not from Concorde. I attended DNI. :)

Good luck nursetobecm and BeccaJae! Congratulations JulieVN!
