LVN Program? Bay Area College of Nursing

Published

hi all!

so i am planning to attend bay area college of nursing - lvn program starting january. does anyone has any advise for this school? for those of who attended this college, could you please tell me your experience?

also, is this a well known school, and guaranteed a job after i graduate from the program? (a website describing this college would be great.)

i just read the admission requirement for this program, and realized that they do interviews for the final applicants does anyone know if there's a chance me and my friend will get in the same program together? or are the lvn program always full?

please let me know. thanks for your help.

Specializes in ED.

have you looked at their website for more information? I think you should at least have done that before attending any college.

just fyi - there is NO school that will guarentee employment after graduation, if you are attending a school that does then I would run away from that school. at this point in Northern California, ESPECIALLY in the Bay Area, new grad RNs are not able to get jobs, and LVNs are pretty much phased out. I believe you may be able to get a job at a nursing home, but even those jobs may be hard to come by as new grad RNs take those positions to get a year experience before they move into hospital positions.

you stated you are planning on starting in January, but also that you just read they have an interview process, have you been accepted into the program or just applied?

I don't know about this program in particular, if this is the program you are getting into I wish you the best of luck!

do you know about NCP, it's daly city too, i think it's cheaper than others ...

HOnestly, you should do more research for the school you are planning on going to. I dont believe that they will guarantee u a job after and if they say that think about it? You will be spending a lot of money so make sure it is worth it

You might want to look at some other schools as there are couple of other choices to consider. NCP is an option and is about the same price with a much better passing rate than most 100% for 2008 . The fee is around $27k for everything and is accredited. I went to the Bay Area campus and was scared at what I saw there. You can look at all the schools pass rates for 2008 at www.BVNPT.ca.gov Good Luck

Hi Helen,

I know some time has passed from your first post, but I was wondering if you ended up going to Bay Area College of Nursing?

I'm trying to decided between two schools and find very little info in BACN.

Thanks!
