  1. The school I am looking into is NCP in South San Francisco and they start in Feb 2010. They are on the list but the next WIA seminar is Dec 4th and I talked to the guy who gives it today and he told me if you are on Unemployment already you are automatically eligible, factor in the holidays and then a 2 month process time, this may move me in to the next class that starts in June. My unemployment would have been exhausted anyway unless they extended it way out. I may just pay the tuition just so I can get this all over with. Nothing seems to be easy anymore Thanks for your help
  2. You might want to look at some other schools as there are couple of other choices to consider. NCP is an option and is about the same price with a much better passing rate than most 100% for 2008 . The fee is around $27k for everything and is accredited. I went to the Bay Area campus and was scared at what I saw there. You can look at all the schools pass rates for 2008 at www.BVNPT.ca.gov Good Luck
  3. Here I am, 47 years old and out of work. What do I do? I am looking into going to a vocational nursing school as I dont have the time or the desire to mess around with waiting lists and or a Lottery. I have friends that are nurses and say go for it and you will be able to find work or your age will not matter. Is this just friends being nice and not wanting to discourage me. I have been reading alot of the threads here and appreciate all the insight from all of your experience. I am a 47 year old guy who has been given the opportunity to do something different with whats ever left of my life. I want to spend it working, not working to find a job after school. Am I waisting time and money at this age? I am interested in whatever feedback I can get.
  4. I am looking into this as well for the feb 2010 program and It sounds like this could take some time to get going. Does WIA finance everything or is it just a portion? I dont want to have to wait a long time to start school waiting to be approved only to find out it was a waist of my time
