Lutheran: ACT score or GPA??

U.S.A. Missouri

Published

Hey everyone!

I just sent my application out to Lutheran. I didn't worry about this before, but I went to UMSL my freshman year of college, and basically I was extremely lazy and instead of withdrawing from certain classes I took an F. Lutheran's requirements say that they require an ACT score of 20 (I got a 26 when I took mine) OR a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on 20 credit hours. Now on my transcript from St. Charles Community College, I do have the minimum GPA but not on my transcript from UMSL. The credits that show on my SCC transcript only have the classes that I passed from UMSL, so technically I only have 17 credit hours that I actually PASSED. Does anyone know if they will take either your ACT score or your GPA or does one supersede the other?

Any insight is much appreciated!!

They will take the ACT score, that is how I got in. I think there is a minimum Math score needed from the ACT as well, else you'll have to take a Math test prior to admission.

Thank you! I was really freaking out. I did know about the math and reading tests; thankfully my ACT sub scores were high enough that I don't have to take either! :) one big hurdle down.

Do you happen to know when they review applications? I've looked at all the threads here and it's hard to get a definitive answer.

It's been so long, I would just call up there and ask for admissions.

I will tomorrow! Is there anyone I should talk to there specifically? Still nervous on the ACT vs GPA thing even though you gave me an answer haha. I'm a worrier by nature :)
