  1. Under "reason for visit": Artificial mitro valve. Really? "Mitro" valve. Who put that in?
  2. I wear a 7.5-8 normally and I wear a 39 in Danskos allowing for the pinky's width of heel room for a proper fit! They seem pretty true to size for me :)
  3. I actually just the other day heard an educator put it this way as to why clinical experience as a CNA/tech/whatever won't count towards your RN...it's because you haven't been doing the things clinically as a tech that you would be doing as an RN :)
  4. Not in MO. In the program I took PCTs get more training and we also get to do things like urethral catheterization (depending on the facility), dc IV's, do blood draws, and 12-lead EKGs. We also went through a lot more of the medical side of things in addition to patient care tasks. You don't need to be certified as a PCT here either like you do in some other states. However, a lot of hospitals are preferring/requiring you have the CNA certification before they will hire you, which I think is silly because PCT training is more in depth and it's tough to challenge the CNA exam having had just your PCT training. Don't know if it's like that in the other states but that's how it is in MO from my experience :)
  5. I will tomorrow! Is there anyone I should talk to there specifically? Still nervous on the ACT vs GPA thing even though you gave me an answer haha. I'm a worrier by nature :)
  6. Do you happen to know when they review applications? I've looked at all the threads here and it's hard to get a definitive answer.
  7. Thank you! I was really freaking out. I did know about the math and reading tests; thankfully my ACT sub scores were high enough that I don't have to take either! :) one big hurdle down.
  8. Hey everyone! I just sent my application out to Lutheran. I didn't worry about this before, but I went to UMSL my freshman year of college, and basically I was extremely lazy and instead of withdrawing from certain classes I took an F. Lutheran's requirements say that they require an ACT score of 20 (I got a 26 when I took mine) OR a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on 20 credit hours. Now on my transcript from St. Charles Community College, I do have the minimum GPA but not on my transcript from UMSL. The credits that show on my SCC transcript only have the classes that I passed from UMSL, so technically I only have 17 credit hours that I actually PASSED. Does anyone know if they will take either your ACT score or your GPA or does one supersede the other? Any insight is much appreciated!!
