Hi everyone! This is my first time posting, so I hope I do this correctly....
Has anyone else applied to Lurie Children's New Graduate Program beginning in March? I know that the new graduate positions came down only last week, has anyone heard back yet? When I followed up they said it may be a little longer until anyone hears!
Thanks!
Well I'm glad you got another interview. I thought you had accepted a position. It's crazy that they are still interviewing with the deadline looming so close.
The best thing you can do is just be yourself. Practice maybe some behavioral type interview questions and maybe some situational ones. Don't play it off as you know it all.
I have a peer interview next week for an OB position. Children's was my first choice, but if this gets me my foot in the door I'll gladly take it.
Good luck
Hello, SLUgirl_RN! Congratulations on the job! I was interested in applying to Lurie Children's for the Summer/Fall Cohorts for the New Grad RN Residency Program, since I graduate in May. Wonder if you would be willing to share some of your experiences thus far - interview process, the unit you selected, etc. I would love some advice. What do you feel made you stand out as an applicant? For example - education, work experience, volunteering, etc. Children's is my top choice, and I would love to snag a position there! Any advice/suggestions would be great. I know it is a very competitive program.
If you would rather not post this information on the board, and wouldn't mind PMing/e-mailing, that would be great also!
Thanks! :)
Hi everyone,
I know this post is about the new grad program, but hopefully someone might be able to answer my question! Did you have to do a group interview? If so, how was it? I am thinking of applying to the externship program, and they do a group interview. I have never done one so it scares me a little! Any info or advice would be appreciated!!
The SNA program, yes. I thought it would be more than that since it said the group interview is with nursing recruitment and the nursing unit. Do they do more of an orientation type thing first and then do individual interviews?
I am nervous because I really want to get a position. I applied to Northwestern's externship and got through the third interview, but unfortunately did not get picked =/

Well thanks for replying. I really wish I would have gotten an interview. The job search has been awful and this was the one position I felt I was really qualified for. Very discouraging.
