LSU Care Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello guys! I wanted to start this thread to see if anyone is applying for the LSU Care Fall 2019 program? Applications are due next month and I am super nervous about submitting, and was wondering if anyone was feeling the same or knew anyone who is currently in the program. :/

? There's also a fee assistance program that Nursingcas provides, if anyone needs any extra help with paying for there application.

For the experiences section, did you guys put work experience, or just healthcare related experiences and volunteering? And also if you took the TEAS or HESI for other programs, did you add that even though it's not required? I don't want to come off as if I didn't read the requirements.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas break ? but @assmmo3 I included work, internships, volunteer work, or anything to do with a medical or hospital training on my application. For the Care program we do not have to include TEAS or HESI exams. So on the application you can choose not to add any test and you'll be fine ?

Has anyone heard anything back yet?

I have not heard anything back, but... I have heard that Dr. Pierce was out on FMLA and still has not returned. Someone else in the department has taken over the process... Does anyone know when we will find anything out? Also, does anyone have any information on the interview and written portion of the application?

I think that Dr. Todd will be taking over for her while she's gone, he is the head of the Nursing Department for LSU New Orleans. I think we should hear back by February 10th about an interview which is done online, then by early March or late February you will get an email asking you to come to New Orleans to do the essay. They essay is 30 mins and I heard it's pretty standard and nothing to worry about, also I think they give you a tour of the school as well.

Okay. February 10th is coming soon! I am so anxious. I hope Dr. Todd has the same standards for accepting prerequisite coursework as Dr. Pierce does. She was really working with me to make sure certain coursework fit the description. I wonder how many people applied!

Oh wow i didn't know that the 10th was the magic day. I guess that puts me a little at ease after not hearing anything yet. Good luck everybody.

Don't necessarily quote me on that date, I asked around and that's the time frame that people who applied last year heard back about the next step. I hope it's actually that soon. ?

Hi there, I also applied for the 2019 program and am glad to see this forum. It is a nerve wracking process. Good luck to everyone!
