I wanted to see who else is applying to the CARE program for fall 2020. I graduated in 2003 with an art education degree and decided this summer I would go back to school and get the nursing degree I always wanted. I am taking my last prerequisites this semester!

How long were you at the school, altogether? And did everybody do the tour together, or did the 9:00 group do their essay and then do the tour, and then the 9:30 group, and then the 10:00 group? I have to take time off of work to attend the proctored essay, and I just wanted to be able to give my boss a rough estimate of how long I would be gone.
I arrived at about 9:35 and my essay was supposed to be for 10:00. They have you wait in a conference room before you do the tour, which is split into small groups. After the tour we did the essay at 10:25. It seemed like there were a few people that had not had the tour yet when the essay was over, but I think they were the traditional students. Also, they may have gotten there late. I was on the road by about 11:15-11:20.

I don't understand this question. What written exam? What kind of confirmation were you looking for? Are you referring to the procured essay? You get a confirmation that the essay was submitted the moment you submit it on your screen, but you don't get an email or anything because you didn't include an email and that submission...

I'm just curious to see how this pandemic has changed or influenced your desire to go to nursing school. Have any of you had discussions or disagreements with your families in regards to continuing to pursue this path? Have any of you decided that maybe this isn't the path for you, after all, after seeing how our health care system has handled this crisis? Have these events strengthened anyone's resolve in regards to taking this path? (Regardless of what your response is, I am not going to shame you, because whatever choice you make, it has to be the right choice for you and your family. This crisis has 100% made me think and think and think and think on this topic. I have read countless posts from nurses saying they are getting out of this field ASAP. And I have read countless posts from nurses on the front lines saying this is what they went to school for, and they are so glad that they have the ability to help the way that they can. So, I'm just curious how other potential future nurses are feeling!)

For me, I feel more passionate about my decision. I would rather feel like I was doing something helpful, than sit at home. I haven’t had a lot of conversation with family or friends about it. I think most people know that I am set on this path, one way or another. I do wonder how this will change the education system, especially in regards to health fields. I also wonder how they will handle fall 2020 students. Will we know on time about acceptance? Will they take more or less students in light of everything that is going on? It will be an interesting few weeks waiting to see what happens!
