LSU CARE Fall 2020 Applicants

Published

I wanted to see who else is applying to the CARE program for fall 2020. I graduated in 2003 with an art education degree and decided this summer I would go back to school and get the nursing degree I always wanted. I am taking my last prerequisites this semester!

Hey ladies! Anyone else worried about putting their acceptance form and fee in snail mail (USPS); I tried to go drop it off today and couldn't get in the building so I'm assuming they are closed.

The big post office in Mandeville was open. I just priority mailed mine at the counter. Could you try another branch? Also, feel free to join our facebook group. I figure the traditional students don’t have a facebook group yet.

I will try the post office in Metairie! Thank you...and no we don't have a facebook group yet. I would love to join! Thank you ?

I got in! I'm from Texas and this move is scary I havent ever lived further than 2 and a half hours from home! I sound like a child haha but its intimidating

I mailed my application fee snail mail. lt got alittle lost on the way, but I stayed in touch with school to make sure they knew it was coming.

I mailed my acceptance fee from the Mandeville post office today, certified mail. I just asked for the cheapest option with tracking. They said someone might need to sign for it...hopefully that's not a problem. *shrug*

That is understandable, especially in light of the pandemic. For the out of state students, y’all may want to look at apartments in Metairie, such as on Lake Avenue. They will probably be a little less expensive than NOLA, but still close.

CONGRATS!! Where in Texas? I grew up in Katy, TX. Moved here when I was 18. Bit of culture shock at first but I haven't left since.

Thank you! I need all the help since I dont know anyone in the area to give me advice on stuff like that ?

There are also the dorms... my tour guide had a house in Harahan and he moved into the dorms to be closer.

OMG no way!! I live in Cypress haha small world! Just made my day knowing that its a good move and you havent left!

I wish I could just move into the dorms but I have my cats. I live on the Northshore now but I'll probably be moving to Metairie to avoid that Causeway drive. I thought about Midcity or Uptown (lived there right after college) but its gotten PRICY! If you leave early enough you can miss the majority of commuter traffic in the mornings.

We'll definitely need a thread in the FB group with apartment recommendations and such.

Yeah I am not going to love the commute across the causeway.

I'm actually moving to the Northshore next month! I'm actually looking forward to the drive...I don't think it'll be that bad, if I leave early in the morning.
