LSU BSN Fall 2015

Published

Hi all, I'm starting this as an ongoing thread from the LSU BSN Spring 2015 thread - For those of us who are applying for the first time, or those who are re-applying. That thread was extremely useful in chatting with other applicants throughout the process whether about prerequs, the actual application, or the interview process. Feel free to post questions, comments, and concerns here.

Thanks!

The board met March 9th (yesterday) we get letters the last week of March. That's what the email that I got after interviews said.

Yep, you're right. Haha, omg! Now I'm about to start freaking out! Ahhhhhhhhhh

I went to an information session today and she actually told me that they are mailing out letters at the end of the week so we should know next week

This is my second time applying. I'm so nervous!

It's so competitive. And knowing that they only accept about 100 students freaks me out! I just want to know already!!

Next week?! I'm freaking out! What's everyone's GPA and Hesi? If you don't mind me asking.

My GPA is a 3.0 and I made a 79 on the Hesi. So I'm really freaking out! lol

I have a 3.0 with a 91 on the HESI.

3.75 with 87 on the HESI! My interview wasn't the best though :/ ! Im super nervous! I'm an LSU student, and we supposedly get "preference." ... I hope it helps!

I feel like it varies so much. With the paper and the interview you really don't know how well you actually did. It's up in the air for everyone.

I have a 3.7 with 86 on Hesi. I thought I did okay in my interview but I'm still really nervous! It seems like less ppl applied this semester since they only had one round of interviews this time.

What I was told when I went for interview is that there were around 230 applicants and 185 qualified applicants (people that were asked to interview). The school will take in 100 students, give or take 4 to 5 (so from 95 to 105 people min/max).

For the Spring 2015 semester (class that just got accepted into school) the average gpa was 3.4 and average HESI score was 80!

This came directly from the admissions lady who emailed us about interviews and was there during the interview process (I don't think I can say names on this site.)

But of course I have heard the horror stories of people who don't get accepted due to a not-so-great interview even though grades and HESI were extremely high! So its definitely up in the air! Anybody qualified has a great chance of getting in! :)
