LSU BSN Fall 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all, I'm starting this as an ongoing thread from the LSU BSN Spring 2015 thread - For those of us who are applying for the first time, or those who are re-applying. That thread was extremely useful in chatting with other applicants throughout the process whether about prerequs, the actual application, or the interview process. Feel free to post questions, comments, and concerns here.

Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything yet? It's making me nervous because in previous threads it seemed like the applicants had received emails about interviews by now.

I haven't heard anything but slorificen402 called and the school said they are still reviewing applications. They may have just had a ton to go through this time. I definitely wouldn't let yourself get panicked that you haven't heard anything yet. I am sure every semester/application period is different for whatever reason.

Yeah I called today, and they said they haven't sent out anything yet

I remember when I applied for the Spring 2015 semester they had interviews the week of Sept 8th and 22nd. They are really behind this time.

I got the email!!

I got the email saying they're reviewing applications.

I guess they are doing two interview dates because I was able to schedule mine

I just scheduled my interview for Feb 19!

So what does it mean if I haven't received a link to schedule an appointment yet? Does that mean something was wrong with my application packet?

Hey Emjk,

Check out this previous thread for the spring semester: https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/lsu-bsn-spring-914377-page8.html Read the next page as well. I have yet to get an email either so at this point we should assume they're simply getting through a lot of applications. Don't get too anxious, there's still a lot of time! Have faith in your application ;)

Does anyone know any possible questions that they might ask us for the interview?

Some things that have been asked in the past are:

Why do you want to be a nurse?

Why LSU as your school of choice?

What qualities do you believe a good nurse has, and what qualities do you see in yourself that would make you a good nurse?

Definitely know the mission and values and be able to incorporate that into your answers

How have you overcome adversity (i don't remember if it was in the workplace or in your life? - I was never asked this question)

I've heard of people being asked what it means to them to have a male dean of the school
