LPT (Licensed Psychiatric Technician)

Hi Everyone!

I am currently participating in a psychiatric technician program. Our admissions counselor raves about how "booming" the job market is for this position because of the new psychiatric facility they're building in Stockton (CA). I want to hear the reality from someone who is already out in the field..is it really in as high of a demand as it is rumored to be?

Also, does anyone have any advice on how to build up my resume? I know a lot of state hospitals and such do not normally hire students fresh out of school.
