I was wondering, if anyone here is from massachusetts, what types of facilities are you working at? I was just curious as to what are the pro's and con's of working in a hospital, assisted living, health clinic or doc office from your point of veiw? And also what is the pay difference?(obviously you dont have to get into specifics if you dont want to, just what the average lpn in your position would make)....i went to that career/salary average website and it was like 60k for traveling LPN and like 40k for another ( i think it was lpn)....and there were the others obviously in between.....Its just something I am trying to lookforward to when I am thru with school(about the type of nursing/place I would like to work at)thanks for taking the time to help me!!!!

i dont need specifics on locations or names of your employment......just wondering where because the pay is different in every state and i want to get as close to accurate as i can, although i know it still does vary

My friend graduated as an LPN a few months ago and is now working at a long term care facility. She makes $24.00/hr and works the evening shift, part-time north of Boston. I just passed the NCLEX-PN last week and I have been trying to figure out the average rates for new grad LPN's in Boston. Since there isn't much to negotiate with as a new grad, most people have given me a range of $21-24.00/ hourly within the Boston area in LTC. I haven't actively begun searching for a job, I'm certain I will find something within that hourly range.
