3. Helps keep boundries, dealing with co-workers and providing the best care I can

4. Seek those out early on that you can go to a resource in your job, understand things will take you longer to do, understand you will be completly freaked out at the amount of responsibility you have but thats okay

5. Study hard, dont give up, do what it takes, enjoy it while it last, its over in a blink of an eye, keep in touch with the friends you made, good source of future support!

Staff nurse in LTC, hemodialysis, medical clinics, psychiatric hospital

Be open-minded, ready to accept lots of criticism, ready to work lots of overtime; be eager to learn different specialties as it makes one more well-rounded and versatile.

Work on competence and that will create confidence; always do your best. If you get burned out, try another specialty.

i have my bsn and i have been out of school for almost 2 years now.

2. what are the different roles you have worked in health care?

i have done home healthcare, school nursing, and i am a staff nurse in a surgical icu (i have been floated to nearly every floor in our hospital though)

nursing is a profession and by acting as a professional it helps to build up the nursing profession. i try to act professional with my patients and other staff.

4. what advice would you offer to a person beginning in the nursing profession?

never stop learning and never be afraid to ask questions!

5. what advice would you offer for a nursing student as they work toward the completion of their degree?

enjoy your time as a student. do your work to the best of your ability and try to learn all that you can. do not be a know-it-all, but instead spend this time asking questions and trying to learn.
