Your income is often determined by your geographic location, job market conditions, and local cost of living. For example, LPNs in New York City can be expected to earn more money than the LPN who lives and works in rural Mississippi.Hi there,i'm from malaysia and currently studying for lpn nclex.I wish to know how much is the rough monthly income of an Lpn.So at least i know i'll enough for myself and send back money for my folks :) Cheers
Of course the cost of living in New York is MUCH higher than the cost of living in a rural area, like most of mississippi. My daughter, who is an RN , and works in Ms. is the director of the Heart Institute at a large hospital in NE MS and makes a VERY good living for a rural area. Most LPNS I know in Ms make $18-20/hr in LTC, less for clinics
There are trade offs. If you want the excitement of an urban area, go to the city. I drive 42 miles 1 way to work in Chicago, so I can live in a rural area. To me, it's worth the peace & quiet.

New grad RNs in the San Francisco Bay area start at about $40 per hour because that part of the country is so expensive for living. New grad RNs in rural Arkansas can earn as little as $17 or $18 hourly, because their neck of the woods is dirt cheap.
