hellp everyone! i am starting lpn school in this fall and i am soooo nervous!!!!! just wanted to know if anyone else is in the same boat, and for others that have already been through the lpn program what can i expect? any advice is welcomed. thanks!!:D

Hello,

I don't know if you are doing an accelerated program or not, but my program was from September to June and boy was it tough. I don't want to scare you, but you have to be ready to give it your everything. I came home from school at 3 and studied until 11 every single night and all weekend long. My life was put on hold. No family, work, friends. It was tough, but I'm on the last stretch and it's easier at this point. No knot in my belly every morning worrying about passing the three tests every day anymore. We are doing mostly clinical and med pass.

I don't want to scare you, you can do it. Just keep telling yourself that failure is not an option. The people who didn't give 100% are long gone. We started with over 70 in our class and have about 32 left. The thing is that when you look back, it does go fast and before you know it you will be a nurse. I have even decided to go on for more and get my RN. Who knew I'd want more stress?

The thing is that I am so proud of myself and you will be too. No one can ever take this away from you and it only makes you stronger. Good luck and relax and enjoy your time while you can.

PS Tivo was a lifesaver for the shows that I absolutely didn't want to miss. I would record them and catch up whenever I had a little time.

Good luck, you can do it.:whe!:

Where are you taking the LPN course?

I'm taking the course at OCTVS in Ocean County.

I agree, an Lpn program especially if it is an accelerated program will require sacrafice on your part. IM graduating form hohokus hackensack in november and the entire year and a half required cut hours at work, no needless haning out or time off from school etc. if this si something you REALLY want though, you will be willing to make the sacrafices tho. Just be prepared that the course work isnt watered down just because it is an LPN program. the work is hard, the hours long, especially if you do not have prior medical knowledge. I started out a nervous reck, shakign non stop at my first clinical, but now am graduating with teachers already giving me personal recomendations and keeping me in mind for jobs! dont let your nervousness get to you and dont let the course work bog you down and before you know it you will be sitting for your boards !

keeping you in my thoughts !
