LPN Searching For Work

I will be taking my NCLEX-PN in September. I would like to work with an agency....so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Looking for agencies that hire new LPN graduates.

Hello, from my experience, they only want LPNs with at least 1 to 2 years of experience, so I eventually ended up working at a nursing home.

Good luck with your NCLEX-PN. As a newly licensed LPN working with an agency without experience could be very scary be mindful of any agency that will hire someone with no experience.Most reputable agencies ask for at least 1yr please don't risk losing your license get into a Nsg Home and get some experience first.

Thanks for the response....I was told the same thing by a few other nurses and so I figured I will take the advice. I did pass the boards...yyyyyyaaaaaayyyyy.....I am now having a hard time finding work in nursing homes also...Does anyone know od any nrsng homes in the Bronx, westchester Cty, or manhattan that are hiring? Please respond as your help will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations!

You and my hubby are in the same boat. He passed his board exam last Nov. 2010. Been job hunting for almost a year. He has NOOOO experience! He went to diff. agencies, applied almost all nursing homes in NY but never called him back. =( It is such a burden to us. Let me know if you got a job pls. Good luck!

Try VNA, Veterans Hospitals, Public Schools, in addition to nursing homes.
