Congratulations!
It was my experience that bridge programs are different. Mine was really easy and basically a study on your own type thing with a few skills and an exam to pass. Another local school I applied to had a summer session that was 5 days a week for 8 weeks, ick. In any event, just do what you got to do to get through it and start working toward your RN. Good luck!
I agree, I think they are all different. I haven't taken the one at my school, but from present students I have gotten an idea of what it is like. It is two weeks, 8-1, M-TH. You are basically getting "caught up" with what the new nursing students did the first semester before you joined up. You are also refreshed on what they expect you to already know as a practicing LPN. Not sure if that helps.
Hi Southern Peach!! I am returning to school after > 15 years myself. I will be starting (LPN-RN program) this summer and am engaged in the nursing transition classes via internet. My class is a 10-12 week class with (2) tests and a final and (2) lab check-offs. So far, it has been interesting and exciting because during the 20 years I've been a LPN,a lot has happened and in order to stay current, the transition class is an extra bonus. Stay encouraged and know that you aren't alone. We're on this journey together.:heartbeat Love yah

Hi Jules:nuke: I was wondering...I need advice. I cant decide if I should go the LPN route then bridge program, or straight to RN?? Im so confused! I thought that I would do the LPN program first, but now Im scared that if I do that I might get "stuck" being an LPN and wont have the opportunity or time(or money) to work to my ultimate goal of being an RN. What was your experience and what is your advice? I am a career change student and just started this whole process.Ive only completed A&P and Im taking a math class currently. I dont know which route to take? Any advice would sure be appreciated!
Hi Southern Peach,
I too started the LPN TO RN program in Pittsburgh and then moved to FLorida and ended up doing it here. It is not easy but you will make it. Just explain to everyone you will see them in a year and dig in! I just Bridged and it was intense we only lost two people along the way!

I am currently an LPN. I have been accepting to RN program but I first have to take the LPN - RN transition course.
Is there anyone out there that has taken that course and can tell me what to expect and what it is all about.
I am a little nervous about it because they said it would be a parttime course but when they sent me the schedule, It looks more like full time. Its 5 days a weeks most days til 2:30pm
Thank You......
