LPN to RN

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi all.... I am an 11 yr LPN. I have dual lic in KY and IN. I want to go to RN school, but I also work a fulltime job during the day. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I would like to start in Jan. I would consider classroom, online, daytime or night/weekend? Any help well be greatly welcomed. Have a wonder night!

You probably will not find a program that will admit you for January. Most schools have already completed the application/admission process for the Spring start. Your best bet is to try for next fall. I don't know of any that offer an LPN-RN program that works around a full time schedule.

you could do online through Indiana State University. DO NOT use the College Network....between myself and about 8 friends who lost thousands of $$$$$ dollars through them, we say RUN, DON'T WALK in the other direction of that operation! All programs that begin in January have already sent out acceptance letters back in the summer or early fall. Good luck, but it may be a while before you get in. Work on prereqs if you need them while you wait

If you are self motivated and feel like you can do a distance program, you might look into excelsior. I wouldn't use the college network...go directly through Excelsior College if that is the route you choose to go. Best of Luck!

Hi, Im looking for the same thing but it's really hard to find an LPN to RN program. I was asking about Indiana Dabney Unveristy in hammond but i cant get any response i guess no one heard of it or no one pass boards. If thats the case it's a no go but they have a program with no waiting list for 15 months if u r an LPN 1 year. It sounds good but one big catch 30,ooo in cash they do have student loans and no fasa so it's 50/50. Im gonna keep looking !! Good Luck

I just started looking into a transitional program from LPN to BSN at Indiana Wesleyan University. The program is offered online which takes 18 to 20 months to complete. They also offer traditional classroom studies. If you go to their website it states you can get in for Jan 2010, but I have not contacted anyone at the school to investigate more details. Here is the website address: http://nursing-degree.iwuonline.com/registered-nursing-bachelor-science/ You may want to look into their program. One huge suggestion, make sure you contact a possible employer HR dept. to check which school degree will satisfy their requirements. I understand there are quite a few online colleges out there; but if an employer is not going to recognize your degree, you just wasted a lot of time and resources. Good luck!
