LPN or RN

Published

I am torn between taking the plunge and doing the full time LPN course in able to make more money and get more experience. I am currently working full time as a cna and mom to 4 boys. My reason for the LPN is because it is shorter term and I can make more money while taking pre reqs for RN if I choose. I have had many people tell me I should go right to the RN program but that will take me forever and I cant afford to work part time for that long. . Any input, opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Elizabeth,

I just wanted to give you a note of encouragement.... my cousin started out (many years ago) as a nursing assistant... then she got her LPN then her RN and now she is a nurse practictioner... It may have taken her a while, but she did it and so can you!

You can always get your RN later on down the road.... If you want to work at it bit by bit... Do it! Best wishes to you!!!!
