lpn to rn program at hohokus ramsey!

Published

Finally I cant wait to start the program! They said they just got approved by the board of nursing and working on their curriculum...Hopefully they start this January ....Any info to this? thanks!

Thank you for your answer SuzieL! I did not see your post until now. Sorry. I know I took English and Pysh years ago at bergen community...so Ill have to get that info. But by next year, it will be too late and I will probably have to retake them. UGH!

I have been studying from TEAS V and McGraw's Nursing Entrance Exam books. I just purchased another one from Amazon: Nursing School Entrance Exams Flashcard Book Premium Edition (Flash Card Books) The Staff of REA. I am hoping this one will help too, because it includes a CDROM and flashcards. That is the best way for me to study because I am a very visual learner.

On the first TEAS 3 practice exam, I scored 72.2 on reading, 48.1 on math, 50.0 on science and a 60.6 on english. I am not very happy with these scores. I really thought I would score a lot higher!!! For reading i got a 100 on parahgraph comp and a 72.7 on passage comp. For math, I got 66.7 for whole numbers,50.0 on fractions and decimals,66.7 on ratio and proportion,0 on metric, algebra and 50 on percentages and 75 on data inturp. For english, I got 75.0 on punctuation, 66.7 on grammar, 50 on sentence structure, 55.6 on contextual words and 50 on spelling. For science, I got a 66.7 for scientific reasoning, 33.3 on general, 66.7 on life, 66.7 on chemical, 0 on physical and 66.7 on human body. So how does this scoring work exactly???? Very confused. As I was taking this practice test, I was writing down everything that I had trouble with so I can study further.

Any other advice on the TEAS would be much appreciated. Thanks again for your response. That was a big help!!! I did print out some GED practice test sheets for this next week. So, hopefully that will help increase the score.

If I really feel uncomfortable taking this test on the 19th, I probably will push the date. I would have to unfortunately, because I want to pass on the first shot. I felt kinda stupid after taking the practice. I have been out of high school for 10 years and during college, I flunked algebra. I know some things we need to take this exam in math, but not algebra. :crying2:

Lvo8 I see whats the confusion Im a lpn I went to hackensack located I thought you were talking about the lpn to rn program... So yess you may be right about the teas Im talkin about rn program at eastwick college !!! So everything I wrote is about rn not lpn...

Yes I was talkin about LPN to RN, but I am starting out LPN first. You didn't really say what you we're going for, so I assumed you meant LPN.

HI, im trying to get into the lpn to RN program at eastwick as well. Did you take it yet?...i tried to purchase some stuff from the ATI testing site but its so expensive. I tooked the test once and i fail :(....what books have you used to study?

thank you.

Sorry ebbee24, this is a thread for LPN to RN, so i am wrong for confusing you too.

Hey rn want to be. How are you? You want to get into the LPN first like myself? If so, the ATI books are really pricey. But a word of advice, the prices are worth it because they really help out a lot!! I have not taken the TEAS yet. I am scheduled to take it April 19th. NERVVVOOUUUSSS!!! I would focus on what you didn't do that great on to up your score. I am amazed at people scoring 80's and 90's!!!

If you are looking for a cheaper way of getting some study books, you can try this site. http://www.half.ebay.com/ You could try your local library too. They might have it. You can also look into a GED book too. I would recommend buying the practice test from ATI. It's 35 bucks and you can only take it twice, but it is good because it gives you a feel of what you need to look out for. When I took it the first time, I wrote down what I didn't understand and what I got wrong. I am going to take it the second time at the end of this week to determine if I need to keep the scheduled date or if I should call and change it to a later date.

I bought the McGraw's Nursing Entrance Exam book as an Ebook for $16 on Borders website. Here is the link if you are interested.

My most recent book purchase was REA Nursing School Entrance Exam Flashcards book from Amazon. This book covers TEAS, NET, NLN PAX-RN, PSB-RN & C-NET-RN. Here is the link for this book if you are interested: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0738608947

I would highly recommend this book because there are A LOT of of practice questions with explanations. It also comes with a CD Rom disk that has the practice tests and a nice colorful human anatomy guide. This disk can also be used for future reference.

I hope I was helpful. : )

LV08 im already an LPN i went to the CANN in Hackensack.

Oh OK. Well, its the same test we are both studying for, so check out those books I suggested. : )

Especially that flashcard book! Def worth the price on Amazon.

Thank you :)....i think the LPN to RN bridge program at Eastwick college its mostly nclex style questions.

You're very welcome! Good luck! Oh that's good to know for when its my turn to do the RN. = )

i graguated from hackensack in 2008 and will start the rn in august and boy has the tuition gone up. its now 32,000 and some

roseonye how was the school then? I am guessing you took the LPN if you are going there for RN...I am really interested in going there and I hope I pass the TEAS this month in order to get in for August. If I dont pass I can still take the Medical Assistant and not have to take the TEAS to get into LPN within the next year. I would rather get into LPN!! Yea it is pretty expensive there but I chose Hohokus because they are well known and recognized. Other schools were not as good. I like how I was treated there when I went the first time for the interview and all of my questions were answered.
