Hello All!
I know this post is a little old, but I have a few questions regarding Eastwick schools.
I called the school yesterday to ask about what version of the TEAS I would be taking, and I was told V3 and that there is NO SCIENCE to study for???!!! Is this right??!! Wouldn't it be important for the school to know if you have knowledge in science if you are looking to go to school to be a nurse?? Hey, I am not complaining because it is one less thing to worry about, but it makes no sense to me.
I am currently studying for the TEAS exam and taking it next week. If anyone has taken the exam there recently, please let me know!!!! I am confused on what I should be studying exactly and what to expect. My math is really weak and I am doing what I can to prepare myself for this.
I actually used ATI TEAS V to study for the placement test and it worked out good for me. I am very nervous, yet excited because I really want to start school as soon as possible. I purchased the the McGraw Hill Nursing Entrance Exam book last night, which was highly recommended on here. I think both books are really good.
Someone else on here told me that V3 is going to be phased out. I don't know if I should go and get the V3 book if I do not have to study science. I did get a look at the table of contents in the ATI V3 study book, and most of it is in V5.
I have never been so confused!!!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out!!
Hello Everyone,
Well I know to gvet in to either program LPN or LPN to RN you must take the TEAS exam. The one to get in the LPN program I would study all parts including science (hey you never know, you don't want any surprises). The exam to get into the LPN to RN program is like a LPN NCLEX exam, I suggest to practice from a LPN NCLEX review book (such as Saunders or Lippincott) focus on whatever you are weak in and everything else of course. You have 2 chance to take the exam in one year if you failed it the first time. The TEAS exam is 3 hours long $50 fee for the LPN to RN program, you have to be working as a LPN for 6 months and you have to have (if you are not a returning student to their facility) A&P I and A&P II with a lab done prior to admission. They accept english 101, Psychology has to have been taken within 10 years of admission. The A&P and chemistry has to be within 5 years of admission. The totaltuition is approx $30,000 for books, uniform, courses, & clinicals. 10 months full time during the day and 2 years part time in the evening. That is the whole kit and kaboodle of how to get in Eastwick Hohokus LPN to RN bridge program.
I don't know if this was any help to anyone because I went to rockland BOCES for my LPN. BOCES cost about $8000 for 10 month full time day programand the entrance exam is basic english and math, I prepared for that exam with a GED book focusing mostly on the math such as fractions, decimals, percentage, ratio, etc. They are still giving exams to enter september program until may.
Hi Lv08.. Im as well am interesting in attending eastwick college lpn to rn program I graduated from Hohokus in hackensack, from my understanding and talkin to Ruth on last week (she is one of the recruiters) and she told me that they changed the test its clinical now she told me to study the Nclex pn book so u should call and find out... I did take the teas and I didnt pass like the Science part and I think reading which I was shock I love reading and hate math lol... The tution is a lil high but at this time I need to just go with it and get it over being that I did went there it does go down not by much thou... But keep me posted I know I want to go take the test before the month is over... She told me the next class starts in August, then October.. I want to start in August... Ok hope to hear from u...
Hello ebbee24. :) How are you? You went to Hohokus for MA? My friend went to Hohokus a few years ago for MA in Ramsey and she really liked the program. She is doing really well too, but I want to move on because my main goal is to become an RN.
I am so confused now on this test. Is it TEAS V3 or V5?? The clinical portion is the Science part?? I called and I was told from Jason, a counselor at Hackensack that the test is TEAS V3 and no science. I guess I have to call again tomorrow. I didn't study any science and my test is on the 19th!! If it turns out that is the case, then I might have to push my test date a week or 2. I will def post tomorrow what I hear. I also purchased the $35 practice test for V3 too! I took it Thursday and I didn't do good on the math or the science.
I was told that the first class can start as early as the end of April, so now I am even more confused!! I know there was a mention of May too. But I cant remember if it was April LPN and May MA or the other way around. I will go through my paperwork today when I get a chance to and post that as well.
I have been going through unemployment problems, so this has been a very long struggle!! Not cryin the blues, or complaining, but it is def a pain if you are unemployed and trying to get into school They do not make it easy!!!
On another note, when I called the one stop center in Paterson this past week, and spoke with the manager. She recommended Pasaaic County Tech in Wayne. They offer an LPN program as well. It is $7000.00. They do not have any financial aid or grants because the cost of the program is so low. But, they have been doing this over 25 years. They start in August as well. Here is the link if you are interested. http://www.pcti.tec.nj.us/lpn/LPN%20Webpage.htm
She also recommended going for RN at William Paterson. I do not know if that will be my next choice or not. I had a hard time with regular college, being that you need to take all these ridiculous prereq's and the classes. She said that going to Eastwick or another tech school for LPN is a good idea because they prepare you not only for nursing but for the work force. College does not really do that for LPN.
Since I don't have a lot of time because of unemployment, I am hoping to get into Eastwick in May. I know that Eastwick is highly recognized and they are accredited and they have the best technology from what I saw. I am impressed with that. The tuition is pretty expensive, but I think that if I am going to get the best training outside of college this is worth it.

I graduated 2 years ago from their LPN program. Does anyone know which entrance exam Eastwick is using to get into their LPN to RN bridge program?
