Hi my name is Latasha... I am really considering going back to school to get my RN (currently an LPN). Do anyone know any good online schools LPN to RN that is approved by the state of Georgia. :nurse:

Well, I want to get my BSN, I'm a LPN as well, and Indiana State University has a program that is accredited and u can take the NCLEX in the state of GA to get your license. So yes, it is approved by GA board of Nursing. My previous Charge nurse ( i was a CNA first) got her ADN from Excelsior and she passed the NCLEX to become an RN and she landed a job shortly afterwards, but college network (organization that helps you prepare to get into these online nursing program, but I dont feel I need their "expensive" help) stated something was going on with the school that they couldnt really advise me on, but since I want to become a Nurse Practitioner, I want to just go for my BSN so I can move forward with the graduate work. instead of the CNA-LPN-ADN-BSN i would be going thru.

Visit this link in regards to Excelsior; http://www.sos.georgia.gov/plb/rn/ . View the rules/law tabs about non traditional education. Legislation from 2008 and pending legislature as we speak about preceptorship hours in Georgia for EC grads. Don't count them out yet. I still have the CPNE pending. As for College Network, you really don't need them. They have rode on the coat tails of EC for years and now they are preying on ISU. Get info first hand from Excelsior and Georgia BON. Best wishes in whatever your decision.

I know this thread is pretty old, but.... What did you decide? I'm an LPN in Ga and want to do the same. I looked at Indiana State but thought that you would first have to be licensed in Indiana then in Ga.
