hi everyone,
i'm new to this site...& already love it:heartbeat anyway, i am currently an lpn and want to further my education to rn, bsn. i am currently enrolled in a program in my area, for rn, asn, but honestly i'm not a fan of it:o. it's a brand new program to the school, so no proven track record of graduates. besides that i work fulltime and have 4 children & a husband. i'm highly considering switching to online programs. any advice or recommendations on which online/distance learning program is best or worst? i have been talking to several online colleges like rue (who uses excelsior college ny), and a few others that i cannot remember their names at this moment. any tips or advice is very welcome...especially from nurses who have actually gone through any of these programs...good, bad & ugly i want to hear it all! thanks!!
lpn_2005... thanks for those websites!! I am graduating from nursing school (lpn) this month, today was my last day actually and I plan on enrolling in excelsior once I pass my boards. You provided excellent advice and gave me a lot more hope and motivation to do the program! Thanks to everyone else too for saying to stay away from tcn, etc. i didnt even know any of that!

I just found out yesterday that a nurse who works with a nurse friend of mine is doing EC and she likes it. It's nice when you find people who have actually done it...real people not qoutes on someone's webpage! TCN took me for a ride....now I'm paying them $175 per month to the tune of $6600.....& their binders of study material are aubsolute crap! Yes I said binders, they aren't books! They got me the minute I graduated from school, they came to our school and did an informative meeting...which is why I believed they were something good. I had no idea until I found this site and acutually started really using it that I could just go directly through EC. Live and learn I guess. Thanks for all the advice...I really appreciate it!
