LPN to RN...need advice...

Published

i am currently in lpn school, a 2 yr program, and i have 7.5 months left until i graduate. i have been debating on wether or not to go on for my rn, and i go back and forth constantly. the waiting list for the rn is a year wait, so i was thinking about applying for that now, so i can just go right on....but i would like to know from anyone that has gone from their lpn to rn....is it harder thank lpn school? what was it like? do you think getting your lpn first helped you in rn school? just curious....

hi im in the lpn program in texas. I have spoke to a lot of rn's that have done what you want to do and they say that is the best way to do it! So dont distress it doesnt matter how you get there just as long as you get there. Right? Basically the Lvn program is the same as the first year of the RN program atleast thats what I have heard.

I went straight from LVN school to RN school and it helped tremendously. I don't want to raise anyone's hackles but from my point of view it was the exact same information. I learned a few things in RN school that I didn't learn in LVN school and vice versa. If you can do it I say go straight through.
