I heard the same thing. Which is why I am waiting till Jan. 0/11{and I have to pass the NEAT with good grade.}

The full time day program during the day is what you are referring to right?

I live 45 minutes away, using 123 the whole way to MCC.

How did you meet the girls that have graduated from the evening program?

ME

I am referring to the evening program which accepts 42 students, that is why I chose that route because my chances of getting in were better. The day program accepts approx. 10 students each year. I met the graduates of the evening program at my current job.

Also, when you apply to the program you have to choose either the day program or the night program, you can't

apply to both.

Hi Lucy

I work with handicapped kids, I find an Lpn's options are nursing home, homehealth or MD office.

Do you work in a nursing home?

You are very lucky to have been chozen from 42 candidates.

Hope I get lucky in 0/11.

ME

I work in a rehab facility which has some long term residents and some sub acute rehab people. This has been my only job since I graduated from school. I have to say it's really busy but the experience I have gotten has been fantastic. I work per-diem there but I always get plenty of hours.

Rehap is very difficult but good experience.

I worked in hospitals as a new grad and got tons of experience there.

Things changed with LPN's from the early 90's until the present.

You will have tons of options when you complete MCC. I know someday I would like to work in day surgery Mon-Friday, skip these weekends!

ME

Where I work the full time nurses work mon-fri 32/40 hours. The baylor nurses only work weekends sat/sun 7-7 they work 24 hrs but get paid for 32. Great option for moms who need to be home during the week for their kids. I do a lot of these weekend shifts and they go by so fast. I don't know what type of nursing I want to do when I get my RN but I'm willing to try most anything. I'm hoping that during my clinicals I will be introduced to something that really excites me.

Take care

Hi Lucy

I thought they got rid of the baylor shifts at most facilities whereas we have been in a recession.

You will get plenty of exposure, and will most likely fall in love with something that will make you passionate about a specialty.

I worked in hospitals for 10 years, LTC for 15 years, now I dabble in both LTC and handicapped children but I am sure I will also find something I have not been exposed to before when all is done.

Take Care

Hi

Im not a Lpn I have a question for the graduated Nurses. I will be starting the Nursing Full-time program this Fall 2009. I completed all my pre-reqs and co-eqs(working on 1 more) so I will only have Nursing Classes during my 4 semesters. I'm transfering in from another school so I dont know much about this school's nursing program (other than hearing from some people on this site , saying that its good)

I am currently taking Human Growth and Dev and then i'll have a month off from school. I worked full time while taking evening classes for about 2 years I worked hard at my classes. And I was thrilled when I was accepted into Massasoits RN program, but I have a terrible fear of failure and not completing this program, especially when I hear how people fail out of the Nursing programs:o

So do you guys have any advice and tips for this New Nursing student?

Hello! I was searching posts re massasoit and seen that you went there! Now can you help me with some info...I plan to graduate this june from my lpn program and i want to start LPN-RN ASAP!! I took a&p 1 and 2 (with like c's) same with micro C...However once you are successful in an lpn program do they look at those grades of course I got high B's and A's in my nursing courses or do they actually make you go backwards and retake anatomy 1 and 2 and micro all over again?!!! ughh I really hope not :/ and how was massasoit?? I know stressful I am sure but something you kind of adapt to after lpn school lol any info I would love to hear from you and thank you so much !

I just found this post as well - I"m interested in the evening LPN to RN program. I have a call into a woman in admissions now but haven't heard back yet. Ericad85 - I think your questions about A&P should be directed to admissions. You'll have to have your transcripts sent over and I think they'd decide from there.

I'm wondering if my TEAS from my LPN program taken in March 2007 will suffice for Massasoit as well so I don't have to take it again. I don't have any of the pre-reqs done yet but am hoping to get into Biological Principles, so I can then take A&P1 and go from there. I wonder if I can take A&P1 at the same time as the first evening nursing course...

Just got off the phone with Admissions again - the next day LPN to RN program starts this fall, and the next evening one starts in FAll of 2012! :( One is starting this month but I'm too late to apply (and don't have my pre-reqs done anyway).

I signed up for an informational session for this Friday (mandatory).
