Wondering if good career opportunites available if considering LPN programs? Is Chattahoochee Tech a good school to consider for this program? How long does it take to get LPN? Can one work part-time while attending school? Please help! Thanks!
CAllen44 108 Posts Aug 29, 2010 I can't help you with info such as job opportunities, but you can check out Chattahoochee Technical College - One College, Multiple Campuses, Community Focused and look up both the LPN and RN programs to compare and contrast. Also, I'm currently in an RN program and I work part time. Wouldn't want to work full time, but that doesn't mean it can't be done!
reannen 38 Posts Aug 29, 2010 How are you liking the program? It's been difficult to find feedback from those that are in the program...though I know that there are a small number of you. :)
CAllen44 108 Posts Aug 29, 2010 I'm not in the Chattahoochee program, I'm at Georgia Highlands. :) Just did my prereqs at Chatt.
reannen 38 Posts Aug 30, 2010 ohhh, gotcha. I'm trying to apply to that program as well. Chatt is causing me trouble b/c they will not let me take the required nutrition course. Grrr.
CAllen44 108 Posts Aug 30, 2010 Bc Chatt doesn't offer nutrition. But you can take Chem instead, it substitutes.
reannen 38 Posts Aug 30, 2010 Much as I didn't want to take Chemistry I think that is the route that I'm going to have to take. Right now, the Chem classes at chatt are full, but I have emailed a prof that I think will let me add if I show up to the first class. My schedule is going to be SO packed. I'm thinking that if I can score really well on the TEAS then I'll just go with the Chatt ADN and failing that, I might shoot for GA Highland's in the fall since Marietta is an option then. I could *hopefully* get some pt nurse tech work at an area hospital in the interim as a foot in for the future.
shellee 3 Posts Aug 31, 2010 Thanks for the info LetsGoMets31.I am new to the forum. I am a CNA looking for work while I finish my pre-req's from chattahoochee. Do you know of any jobs in the area?
CAllen44 108 Posts Aug 31, 2010 I don't necessarily *know* of any, but you can go to any hospital/hospital system's website and view job postings. There are almost always CNA positions available.
