Nursing Students LPN-RN

I recently graduated from the LPN program at Galen College in KY, I want to go back 2 school for my RN but I really don't want to owe Galen $20,000 on top of the $16,000 that I already owe them especially when their credits don't transfer everywhere:crying2: Does anyone know of any schools that has a lpn to rn bridge program that is accredited that will accept Galens credits?????

wow, that's not a lot between lvn & rn. well here in ca (which doesn't accept excelsior) pays a lot more between lvn & rn. as a matter of fact i know someone who is getting $75 hr as a rn prn. i'm telling you that as a lvn i'm getting far less than that.

yeah it's not that much but i'll take what i can get *for now*. the difference in pay is not that much in my current facility because the lpn & rn pretty much do the same thing, so i agree with the pay difference. i heard some ltc facility here has $10+ difference between an lpn and rn so i need to search for those facilities. :D

if you have more than a years experience as a rn then you can apply for endorsement as an excelsior graduate. in the bay area, the salary is a lot higher but so is the cost of living. i'm curious how the brn would handle your case as an excelsior graduate. how would they evaluate your education and experience. imo, i think they descriminate against excelsior graduates.

yeah i remember the "case by case basis". lucky for me, i have no plans on moving to cali so no problemo. however, sometimes life gets in the way so you never know but hopefully i will have tons of rn experience by then and would probably have a bsn/msn already so i don't know if ca brn would accept me.
