Nursing Students LPN-RN

Is anyone a student here? I am doing their gen ed program which goes from May 15-Aug 23 2012 and then I start the actual 11 month bridge program in September. If you are a student here, please tell me about the cirriculum, the clinicals, and your overall impression of the program. Thanks a bunch!

Hello everyone!! Graduated from ANHO in early June (only 41 out of 100 made it), took NCLEX yesterday, and found out I passed today! No complaints, in and out in a year, and now I have RN status!! Totally stoked!!

Can you share your experience in the program as well as clinical and everything else overall? I would greatly appreciate it? I'm trying to find out about their accreditation would you know who the program is accredited by?

My experience in the program, I have to be 100% honest, was not the best. It is a very fast paced program, and you're expected to do a lot of self study. You can't let yourself fall behind AT ALL because there's very little time and/or faculty support to help pull yourself up. I suppose that's why they only admit LPN's and paramedics into the program: the school expects you to hit the ground running from the start. Clinical, in my opinion, could use improvement as well as there was very few days in each rotation and when we were there we did observation only and no hands on. There was no end of the year preceptor ship so the students can get what its like working a shift as a nurse. The school is not regionally accredited or accredited by the CCNE or ACEN (formerly the NLN). The school says they are working on obtaining these accreditations. ANHO is accredited by the Council of Occupational Education. I knew fully what I was walking into when I enrolled at this school. I knew that most people that enroll will have to repeat coursework at some point and therefore won't graduate on time (or at all for that matter), but I guess for the convinence of getting into an RN program with no wait list and very little prereq requirements, I was willing to take the risk. I've had no difficulties obtaining employment (three per diem jobs--two as a visiting home health nurse and one in a hospital) and I do plan on bridging to a BSN program, most likely through Excelsior College, since I took my prereqs through them. Is ANHO for everybody? No. But for me, it was the right choice. Hope this long post helps you a little.;)

Hello destinemightnurse. I was just wondering how is the LPN program at ANHO? I plan on attending this May for the evening program. Is the school good is it worth it...and do you just bridge over to the RN program when your done. Thank you in advance.
