:welcome: Welcome to our forums!

I've moved your thread to the Virginia Nurses forum with the goal of getting a few responses from people who are actually in the area in which the school is located. Good luck to you!

Hi, I currently graduated from the LPN program in December at ECPI- Medical Institute. I really learned alot from the school and it took alot for me to get through it. Having two children it was a little tough, but they have mandatory tutoring if you are failing at midterm and teachers are more than willing to help you whenever you need them. The teachers at the VB campus are such awesome mentors, because most of them have been RN's for more than 15-20 years they definitely know their stuff. I had 8 girls in my class, we are now graduated and have all taken our NCLEX's and passed, so we are all now LPN's. It is not an easy school, but at the end it is well worth giving it a try. I hope I helped out. Thanks

Oh and you will hear alot of people say they do not understand why we are qualified to be nurses because we do not stay in the program as long. We are as long as any other LPN program you have. You get plenty of Clinical time. We had clinicals four weekends in a month from 630 am to 300 pm. During those times you get so much experience doing anything from giving a shot to doing wound care, you do what a LPN is qualified to do. Alot of negative things are always said about MCI, but you can not always believe what is said. We have a great reputation with all of the facilities that we have clinicals at, and always treated like we are wanted there. I did take the night program so the day program has alot more opportunities seeing everything is open on the weekdays. So definitely give MCI a try. Sorry just had to add that lil tid bit in. Thanks

I attended the VB campus from Sept 2004 to March 2006. I went to the night program which is 18 months long. I chose them, b/c I had to work fulltime during the day. At the time I went, they were in the process of changing d.o.n's so it was very stressfull and things werent managed as they should have been. After the new don came everything sort of calmed down. I learned alot, and keep in touch with my classmates. We graduated with 10, and all of passed our boards. Hard to believe that it has been almost 2 years.
