Hello everyone.
The school I am thinking about attending has an LPN program and an RN program. I looked at the NLNAC accredited nursing programs list and it only comes up that the RN(Associate)degree program is accredited for this school. I am confused because the first year of this program is the LPN portion(you can sit for PN licensure after the first year) and after you complete the first year you are internally transfered into the second year which is the RN portion. I'm confused on why the LPN portion isnt showing up as accredited when its built in the RN program that is showing up as accredited. I dont get it. Does anyone understand this? I hope I didnt confuse anyone
. I should also mention it is state accredited though but it doesnt look like its NLNAC accredited. unless there is a mistake. Do you think its still worth attending?
thank you.
I meant that the LPN program and portion is state accredited/approved but its not NLNAC accredited...I don't think....
not sure what to think?

I guess I would ask someone at the school what this means. My wife was mislead at a trade school about accreditation so be careful.

A nursing program does not need to be nationally accredited to operate. Rather, all it needs is approval from your state's BON (board of nursing).
The LPN program at the school you're considering might not have met the requirements for NLN accreditation, but their RN program most likely became approved. If the RN licensure is your ultimate goal, then I wouldn't worry too much about the LPN portion not being accredited by the NLN. As long as the RN portion is accredited, you should be perfectly fine.
By the way, numerous LPN programs are not accredited by the NLN due to a lack of MSN-educated instructors. It has nothing to do with the actual quality of their nursing program.
yes I am going to check again to find out. yeah I'm sure the RN program is accredited though and I do plan to get my RN here. I was just a lil bummed because if I did decide to leave after my 1 year(LPN) which I dont want to but you never know how things go then I wanted to make sure it wouldnt be to hard for me to get my RN somewhere else if I choose too....you know like a LPN-RN or LPN-BSN bridge program.
Like, lets just say I get my LPN here and its only state approved/accredited. Are there other LPN-RN or LPN-BSN programs that are okay with letting licensed LPN's in and RN program who graduated from a school that is state approved/accredited as part of there admissions?
I hope I'm making sense....
