Published

Hi everyone. I am so happy to have found this web-site. I am taking the LPN Pre-Nursing Entrance Exam next week and my college sent me a study guide but it is not very big. What is on this test? Is it a lot of math(worst subject 4 me)? What do I really need to be concentrating on? I would app. any help.....I am so nervous and only have 10 days left. I have been studying the guide but feel like there is a lot more to it than what they sent? Is there a lot of chemistry on the LPN test? Well, please help me and thanks in advance

Hiya.....I did not have to take an LPN entrance exam, but we had to take an exit one from the NLN and when I went to Barnes and Noble to find a book for this test, I saw an NLN pre entrance exam book that was there. You may want to look into seeing if there is anything different in that book from the one your school sent you. :nurse:

Hi! If you are talking about the PSB test..I bought the book to study for it, and there was just so many different things to study...I just gave up! When I took the test, I found out that it is pretty much impossible to study everything that is on it. There were math story problems that were really basic and alot of questions that you had to know word meanings and spelling. Then there were also alot of earth science questions and the ones where they use different shapes and ask you " this shape is to----as this is to----". So the questions were just all over the place. Hard to know what to study for. I didn't do much studying at all and I scored a 423 on the first try. That was a good enough score to make me be one of the 60 who were accepted into the program!! So I hope that this helps you, and that we are talking about the same test even! Good Luck!! Let me know how it goes for you! Lisa

Wow thanks guys and I take the test tomorrow morning so wish me luck. I just found out that the place of bus. where I work doing HR is shutting down in 2 months so this test means the world right now. Thanks and say a little prayer. :saint:

I just took my lpn entrance exam March 8th and passed. It had basic math adding and subtracting with decimals, fractions, and reducing fractions. Math is my worst subject and I did just fine and we weren't allowed to use calculators. The test reminded me of those test I took in high school. There was also a psycological part of the test. Good luck , you'll do fine!

Well, took the exam and did terrible. They sent a study guide and I knew that thing by the letter. None of it was on there and I did not even finish the math part. I am so upset. I don't think I passed. I might have one more chance to take the test this month. Where can I find a good study guide at?

Try getting a GED study book. Sounds weird I know, but that is what I was told to study when I was going to take my test. There was no social studies questions on my test, just english and reading comp, math, and a few science questions. HTH

How long do you have to wait to test again?

I practiced with this before I took my test. Make sure you go over the math and reading section. I didn't have and vocab or science, on the test. It was read this paragraph and tell us what the main topic is stuff like that. The math had a lot of fractions , reducing and percents. I hope this helps.

I find out the results this week but you kinda know when you don't do well. I can take the test again on the 26th of this month. They sent a study guide....none of it was on the test. So I will try again unless by chance there was a small miracle and I passed. :yelclap: :yelclap: Thanks so much for everyone's help and support. I love this web page!

I'm not sure what test you took, PSB, NET or HOBET but all of them have study guides. I used the ARCO book for my PSB and scored over 95% on every section. (Several of them were 99%) The only reason I'm telling you how well I scored is because I graduated from high school almost 30 years before going to college, and this was my first test! Only 25 students were admitted with several hundred applicants, so I suggest you get a book that helps you with your specific test.

Best wishes & I look forward to hearing about your great test results!

Diane

I PASSED!

Thanks for everyones reponses and kind words! I am so happy!

:balloons: I'm so happy for you! Best wishes as you go forward in your nursing career!
