I used the pre-entrance exam book by Mary E. McDonald and to be honest it didn't help a bit. The entrance test was basic, Reading Comprehension and 10th grade level math. I would just brush up on your math skills if you need it. The reading part was just reading a paragraph and then answering the questions. The entrance exam was nothing like I though it would be. Where I went you had to have 12th grade reading skills and 10th grade math skills. There are some places you only need 10th grade reading skills and 8th grade math level. I think it really depends on where you are going to school. You will be fine. Just brush up on the math skills and do some practice reading comprehension. You could also ask the school what they would suggest. My school gave me practice worksheets and even offered a class if needed. I would check it out :) Good Luck.

hi there!
i'm currently preparing myself to also take the entrance test for lpn school (i plan to attend part-time). the school in philadelphia pa (eastern ctr for arts & technology, located in willow grove, pa-just outside of the mt. ary section of philly) that i am quite interested in provides a link to a website that allows you to purchase a study guide for the net, hobet, & the help entrance tests for lpn/lvn ( and possibly other healthcare professions) programs.
please use the following link (or copy & paste the address into your browser); http://www.eriworld.com.
i hope this helps you-i think the guide is great and am feeling more confident about the entrance test and achieving my goal of becoming a lpn or rn! (i plan on taking the test within the 1st 3 months of 2008-if i want to be in the next incoming class of november 2008, i'll need to take the test by the may 6, 2008 deadline-and i will be in that class!):caduceus::studyowl:

I am a student practical nurse. I use a book called ATI. It consists for 4 different books that includes questions mainly featured in the NCELX-PN. The cool thing about the books is that it offers a lot of imformation in a condense bulleted format. The answer of right there, after the questions and it gives the explanation as to why the answer is correct. I hope this helps. :) I did not order it by amazon or online for that matter. My teacher ordered it for us and we had to pay
Is this book helpful with the entrance exam for LPN programs that test with the NET, HOBET, or HELP exams?

I think the OP is looking for pre-entrance exam books; since she/he isn't a student, yet. I also used ATI. I didn't find their CDs useful, because they were boring, but the practice tests were alright.

Really? you didn't find ATI's CD-roms useful. I thought they had a lot of information on it. I do agree some parts were boring and they just kept talking.
