I got my RN through Excelsior this year. If you are disciplined and a solid learner you CAN do it! Go to Excelsior.edu for information.A phone number is on the site. They can answer specific questions about certain states. Please be aware that there are publishing companies who will charge alot of money for "study systems" Alot of this material you can get cheaper elsewhere and even free from Excelsior! I begged borrowed or bought from Ebay.As with alot of college classes, the newer editions really do not have much different material than the cheaper older versions.good luck

Have you considered the low-tech research technique of *calling* or *writing* the BON in Tennessee?
The College Network wants to sell you a bunch of study guides for the program that you're already paying for. I can't tell you not to bother, but I wouldn't.
As a matter of fact, I have. Unfortunately, the board of nursing in Tennesse isn't open 24/7. In the meantime I just posted a question. By the way... Tennessee has websites so people can utilize them. Also, how many times have you used the "low-tech research technique of *writing*"? Just Curious!
Many, many times. Some younger people forget--or never knew--how life existed before personal computers. :)

hi nursienurse...
i'm with others here, check excelsior.edu and they'll be able to tell you if you will be able to be licensed in tn. the us has many "compact states", meaning if you were granted license in one, you may be granted license in another"...but i don't off the top of my head remember which ones are in that category.
i myself am an excelsior student and i find the program very informative, and you're well ahead of the curve, given that you're already an lvn.
stay away from the college network and other sites that will ask you to "pay", most of the time they only give you info that you can get for free from excelsior.
any other questions, give me a holler.
