This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)
Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?
In California
north state $18-32
an avg $22-24, time and half last fours on 12 hr shifts.
Southern Ca same except San Diego has one of the lowest
paying areas with range $15-18 hr. I was told due to the revolving door
of military spouses that are nurses. same situation for the RN's.
Freeways are insane as is 50% of drivers.
But....the weather is amazing, Mediterranean, sky so blue looks free of smog.....illusion.
but I am real sorry some areas pay so little, like OK. that is sad
Shopgal, I'm Finishing my degree up through Concord, and Im looking everywhere for a good paying job, it seems like you have that so please please give me an idea of what facilities will pay me near the same, salary.com gives me an idea of what to look for but I need a push where to go, are you currently in a long-term facilitiy, Im not asking which one but maybe another similiar to your's you know pays somewhat the same.
I know I have posted here before .. just got my first paycheck and Im happy .. they pay time and a half for any over time ... if a nurse pulls a double shift time and a half first 4 hours and then after that double .. which together making almost $700. Benefits awesome.. glad so far .. eventually get my RN... and flu clinics are 35/hr I plan to do that flu season ...
I live in Pennsylvania, my first job out of school is at a LTC facility and I started out making 12.10 an hour then after 3 months I went up to 12.34 and hour. I am working 3-11:cry: with no shift differential. I have been there almost 5 months. We have 20 residents each. We work our butts off!!! I am really sick now that I see that almost everyone is making alot more than we are around here. But happy for you guys! The hospital starts out at 13.00. Home Health starts between 15-18 depends on the case but no insurance. Have a good day! Hugs, Chrissy
I was at a LTF the other day visiting a friend. I knew several of the nurses there including the ADON. She asked me if I wanted to work per diem. They pay 23.50 per diem. That is Putnam County, New York. I work in Westchester County and make more. The reimbursement rate for Medicare is very different between the 2 counties.Don't know about what the RNs make.
I know this post is a little older... but can you tell me where you are working in Westchester or Putnam. I am graduating this June and will be taking the NCLEX-PN. I will need to work right after that and would appreciate any information you can give me.
Thank you
JoAnn
