LPN/LVN Program California

Published

Hi there!

I just joined the allnurses community. I am looking for some advice and am hoping I came to the right place! Thank you in advance for any and all help!!

I live between San Francisco and Tahoe, about an hour east of Sacramento. I had planned to attend a community college for their RN program after finishing my prerequisites. However, my science prereq GPA did not make the cut for most. After some thinking, LVN seems to be the way to go that way I can accomplish the LVN to RN bridge.

I visited Carrington college in Sacramento and it seems to be a decent fit for my needs. I am wondering if there is anyone here who has attended Carrington and can offer some wisdom into their program. Or if there are other programs in the area that may be more highly suggested.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this thread and for any information shared!!

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

Besides Carrington, you may want to look at Kaplan college, Charles A Jones and Unitek, which are all LVN programs in Sac.

Stockton has Xaviar and another college.

Yuba/marysville has an LVN program through ROP/Sutter one stop.

I believe there's also a school in Sac called Curam College.

ITT tech has a school called breckenridge which is a diploma RN school.
