So im starting clinicals soon and i want to know if its a good idea to buy another pair of shoes just for clinicals. right now i have a pair just for theory, and thinking maybe i should just wear the one i do for theory. soo would it be a better idea to buy new shoes just for clinicals and have one for theory?

Well it depends, are the ones for theory comfortable enough to be on your feet all day long? If so then use the same ones if not buy a new pair, ones that will keep your feet happy.

I would.

My first reason is health reasons. Hospitals have lots of things in them you don't want to take home with you. So you should have a pair of shoes just for the hospital that you can take off before you walk inside your home. This might just be me being a germ-freak but the thought of bringing home some of the things my patients had freaks me out.

My second reason is the fact that if you are using 1 pair of shoes all the time you will wear the shoes out faster.. so you might as well have two. :D

i agree with the above...ALWAYS have a separate pair of shoes for clinicals (and you can use them over when you start working!)

you don't know what you'll step on...
