Are LPN/LVNs able to find work in Colorado?

What is the usually the base pay?

Do nursing homes hire LPN/LVN's?

Specializes in ER, ICU.

As far as I know (I'm an RN) the Front Range hospitals don't employ LPNs, but nursing homes do. Base pay here in general, across all fields is pretty low. Starting pay for RNs is around $23/hr. Hope that helps.

Specializes in LTC, Agency, HHC.

There are places to work here, but they are very limited. No hospitals at all, LTC is starting to do away with them....depending on the corporate agency. HHC uses them. Pay in LTC is about $18-$20 depending on facility and experience. HHC pays $17. If you want more infor PM me, I have been here in CO as an LPN since 2005.

I live in western colorado (grand junction) and we have TWO out of 3 area hospitals that employ a high number of LPNs, and there is ZERO talk about phasing them out of nursing homes. I graduated from an area LPN program in May and all but a couple of my classmates are employed now in nursing homes, doctors offices, and hospitals. There are jobs here!
