I'm sure that you all have heard the negative comments made about LPNs. Some people call us "Little Play Nurses," "Low Paid Nurses," and "Let's Pretend Nurses." A small handful of RNs have mentioned that we're incapable of thinking critically, and so forth. I think it is time for some positive feedback regarding LPNs, because we do occupy an important place in the healthcare system.
Since we frequently spend a whole lot of time with our patients and can offer them care with the personal touch, I think we should be referred to as "Life's Perfect Nurses." I believe we have enough practical knowledge to provide comforting care without becoming lost in the sea of bureaucracy. Does anyone agree, or wish to comment?
I am an LPN and I work side by side with RNs and the only difference at the facility we work at is they draw blood and we dont the rest is exactly the same work, they will tell you some LPNs can run circles around them. The pay scale is different because of their education but they will tell you LPN school is no joke it is intense and not easy. The RNs making the crude remarks just show their ignorance and the type of people they are and we all know there are those type people everywhere. I am proud to be an LPN , took a large pay cut from a UAW job to become one because it is what I want to do, an no ignorant , small minded person will make me feel bad about the choice I made.

i was always so exhausted i really have no idea how i did it.. i did 2 subjects at a time .. and honestly i didn't think anyone could be that tired and be alive... i was very pregnant toward the end with my twin girls .. they are very identical cutie blond heads now ...i graduated i had the 2 babies .. took boards with c section pain .. and God willing i passed w/ 75 questions...
i think it was prayer and a good hubby and 4 other kids, good mom and dad who supported me in the crazy idea... i must have been insane for 5 years... i had to redo everything over just like you.. i took as much online as i could and had to go to class for all the biology and things that needed a lab... but i dragged myself i took the 0700 classes to get it over with.. when i had to go to school ..., then nursing school i just did what i had to do . never missed a class or clinical ,, i knew if i failed there would be no other chances.. i had to do it... i gave myself no choice...
just keep praying and do your best and God will do the rest...
