I am a graduate nurse but failed the rn exam. Does anyone know if I am able take the lpn exam in pa, so I can work as an Lpn. Any help I would be grateful.
Thanks.

You will need to check with the BON, there is an increase in the states that are no longer permitting this. Best to contact them directly.
Sorry to hear that you did not pass your exam.
I am also going to move this to the PA forum since it is specific to that state.
Best of luck to you.

I really don't know if pa is part of the ones that let you take the lpn test. You will have to call the pa state board of nursing. I know how bad it makes you feel when you fail the rn exam. Study and take it again. I have heard suzanne on here has an excellent plan for passing the exam. Good luck to you.

I'm pretty sure that you are not able to take the lpn boards in PA. There are a minimum number of clinical hours lpn students must have to be eligable to sit for boards, rn students do not have a minimum number of clinical hours to sit for boards. As a result, you may not have had enough clinical hours in your rn program. I hope this helps. I'm sorry to hear about the rn boards.

You must actually graduate from an LPN school to take LPN exam. I failed a course in my Rn program. I just had a short while to go before I would finish my Rn program. Unfortunately, I failed my last course in my junior level. It was going to be a year before I could re-take the course. So, I checked out LPN route. I had to go to school for at least one quarter to graduate. So, I went that route. I completed the quarter in twelve weeks. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time before re-taking the boards? I would just re-take the RN board. Good luck to you!!!
Oh, and I remember another RN classmate of mine who was hired at a hospital as a GN. She failed her boards, and had to work as an aide. She received aide wages, not an LPNs. However, she passed her board the second time around!
