LPN jobs...

Published

I recently got my NJ LPN license and I had no any luck to find a LPN job here. The most local NJ employers ask about 1 year of experience as a nurse. I am a single mother of a four year old and I am willing to move to another State to get a job. I need some suggestions about LPN job market. Thank you.

Specializes in Care Coordination, MDS, med-surg, Peds.

Have you looked in Urgent care centers, Home health, hospice or LTC? I know in my state Doctors offices hire LPN's. so that might be an option. Another place to try, is VA or ID/DD centers, group homes, assisted living centers, schools, etc. Hope one of these idease leads to a job for you!!

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.

I would look to the VA. They are hiring in clinic and in patient...there are also LPN jobs in PA in NJ...you may have to expand your mile radius, but there are postings, at least 30% looking for new Grads. Good Luck!

HELP HELP...

Hi everyone! I just recieved my LPN license from NJ. I've been searching and had no luck finding a job. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. I'm looking for something in Northern NJ. Please help.

Is an LPN still a good job? I'm looking into CRNA down the road but maybe want to start as an LPN. Although, if people are not finding jobs, I'm not sure it a good way to go.

I'm an LPN in east Tennessee, I've been a nurse for 10 years now. I guess it's all on where you live because here lpns work in ltc, clinics, private duty/home health, schools, mr/dd/id group homes, insurance agencies, shot clinics, even factories as a personal nurse for the staff and some hospitals. The hospital jobs have gotten fewer over the years because they've went to mostly Rns but, some still hire LPNS. I don't know if it makes a difference but, here in Tennessee LPNS can do most everything an RN can. There's only a few things we can't do. I had a friend who was an LPN and never had a problem finding a job (she liked to job hop) but, when she got her RN she had a hard time finding something because, she didn't want to with in the hospital. She actually went back to a job she had when she was an LPN at a drs office and accepted a lower rate of pay. Maybe try another state than where you live now?? There's jobs out there.
