I just recently passed my boards in early March, applied to a ton of jobs and finally got an interview in Bethlehem. I was offered the job same day. I also got a phone call from another facility on Thurs. (did'nt find out about it until this morning thanks to my hubby  ) There are def. jobs out there you just have to keep looking. I would suggest looking about 15 miles outside of your search range that you have now and see what comes up. Good luck to you!

hi! congratulation

:yeah: Congratulations! The interview for me was very laid back. I just told them about my experience and what I was looking for. I was asked why I wanted to work in LTC. They didn't ask any questions like your instructors grilled you which was great...that's what I was expecting. Everyone was very friendly, I think you'll be okay. As far as what LPNs do in nursing homes...med passes, treatments, manage the CNAs, injections, blood sugars. There are some threads here on allnurses about some of the things LTC nurses do. I plan on doing orientation the week of 5/16, it's for 5 days in the classroom so I'm guessing during that time more information will be given. Let me know how everything goes!

thank you so much ...hope u will like your new job...i will let you know how my interview will be...anyway enjoy!bye

So, curious to know how you guys are making out with jobs/ interviews. I decided not to take that job seeing as how it was just weekends and that was the only time I would get to spend with my family. In hindsight I kind of wish I would have taken it and just went part time at the job I am at now. I'm finding it difficult to get any takers on getting an interview now. I'm starting to get discouraged and very frusterated again. I hate the feeling that I'm being walked on at my current job and desperate to get a REAL nursing position. :crying2:
