Lpn Gpa In Georgia

Published

Hi,

Has anyone graduated or is currently attending a Georgia LPN program. If so just wondering what school? How was or is your experience? Also, what kind of gpa were you accepted with? I've contacted several technical schools in the atlanta area(Dekalb Tech, Chatt Tech, Gwinnette Tech, Atlanta Tech....). Staff members pretty much say it's competive and aim for straight A's. I understand that these programs are competive but is ther some type of gage like with the RN programs. For example, some RN programs criteria shows 2.5 being the minimum GPA required; but last year 3.7 was the lowest GPA accepted. That's the type of info I am looking for, if there is anyone with information please share. I'm just curious of my chances. By the way my GPA right now is a 3.13.

Hi, I attend Cgtc in Macon and its not that bad. I got in with a 3.6 but im now down to a 2.8 from getting C's. I transfer from Clayton State because I knew i would not get in their program with a previous gpa of 2.2. Im going to do a brigde program and then finish up at clayton state.

prettymica: Hi, can you tell me if it is very hard to get into the nursing program @ Clayton State? Do they have a waiting list? Would appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks :nuke:

yes it is very competitive at clayton state, you basically need a 4.0 and nothing less. I heard they have a waiting list now, but they try to get you to get a dual degree in health care management so they have most people taking classes for that while supposedly waiting to get into the nursing program. I havent met anyone yet that has gotten in with under a 3.8 gpa. good luck you can do it, they flat out told me i was not a candidate so i got into the lpn program and ill be finished this december, and then im going to try to get into the bridge program at abac, because its only one day a week! :)

How about Georgia state university? Do you know if they are hard to get into?

i heard they were very competitive also, pretty much any school in the metro area or on the bus line will have a waiting list and ridiculous requirements

geez!!!!!! that's not very consoling to hear. I guess I'll have to keep checking out schools, let me know if you have any suggestions. And thanks for the info.
