I need help people! im an LPN and I wanna go back to school to get my bsn i found out that excelsior college has an online program to get your associates in as little as 3 years part-time which means (im thinking anyway) that i could probably get it in as little as 2 years!!! Heres where the question comes in.....Doesnt it make sense to do the online program and get my associates degree because in as little as 2 years i could be working as an Rn in a nursing home at least and while working I could continue on to get my Bachelors degree......If i go to school and go straight for the BSN in two years time i still wouldnt be able to take the NCLEX for RN right? or wrong? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

I would not worry so much about the timeline because there are several factors that will affect it. EC is a distance program, not an online program. You will need to verify that it is accepted in your state first. LPN to BSN programs that you might want to explore are ISU and WGU. WGU has programs up and running in CA and TX with plans to add other states in the near future. ISU is going in CA and other states, you would have to contact them to find out if this is doable in your own state. Be wary of ISU though, as they may attempt to pawn your questions off on The College Network, the publisher that provides study modules for some of ISU's tests. You can do the ISU program without paying money to TCN. There are also other programs that you could find by searching the internet. Good luck finding a program that meets your needs.
