Im starting an LPN program next month and would like some recommendations on any books that might help outside of the books being provided by the school and also any supplies that are a must have *I have some things already but would like to know what you guys have or had used in the pass.*...THANKS!

Do you have any idea what books are being provided by the school? When I did my LPN schooling we were provided with the usual textbooks for Nursing Fundementals, Psych, Med/Surg, Child & Maternity..and a medications book as well as a Tabers Medical book.
If you have no medical background at all I'd say pick up a medical abbreviation/terminology book.
A good care plan book.
Supplies, we were not given anything in terms of supplies.
What I had (some was required, some wasn't)
stethescope
BP cuff
shears
pen light
NUMEROUS pens, pencils, highlighers as well as paper for notes etc
clipboard for clinicals.
We have orientation on the 1st so Im wishing that we get our books or at least some type of list...I need some type of idea...can you tell me what care plan book you feel might be best? Thanks!

[color=#2f4f4f]hey there! congrats on starting the program! i started this semester. :)
my most recent purchase has really helped me get the information we talk about in lecture stick. lpn notes by davis...definitely worth the money spent and fits in my scrubs pocket perfectly for quick reference!
i haven't really found any supplemental learning books that have helped any more than the books that were mandatory to purchase for class, so it's saved me a lot of money by not doing so and just writing notes from my books to eliminate a lot of the unimportant words added in the information so i don't feel so overwhelmed.
post-it tabs! if i were you, i wouldn't even mess with dividers! i bought about 5 packs of them and i don't even use them anymore. it's so much more convenient to tab each section in my notebook with these than to worry with dividers tearing from being flipped through so much. i use a huge binder for everything, so they got damaged while i'd flip to other classes easy.
other things i've bought and have used avidly:
bp cuff
stethoscope
medical bag to put all of supplies in
smooth writing red/black pens for charting
post-it flags
note cards
highlighters (surplus!) i am a crazy highlighter student
pens (never enough...they disappear quick and easy)
mechanical pencils
4" binder so i don't have a backpack full of 3+ binders
