LPN to ADN while working, Possible?

I am a CNA in Home Health, going for an LPN in the not too distant future, and would like to go for an RN eventually. My situation is I would not be able to do it without at least working part-time. Is that possible to do on an LPN salary while still not failing RN school? The company I'm with is very flexible, so I don't see a problem from that aspect.

Yep, loads of people do it. Not saying it's a walk in the park, but certainly do-able.

It's doable and there are many options to achieve your RN while working as an LPN/LVN. The experience you gain while working in nursing may even help with what you learn in RN school. It's tough but you can do it. I wish you the best!

Its possible but ultimately only you will know if that is the right decision (family?, enough hours to study etc...) and a big advantage is that when you graduate as an RN you will have the experience. It seems nowadays they want nurses with experience!

I worked full-time as an LPN/LVN the entire year that I attended an RN completion program. Working and attending school at the same time was very possible for me.

I worked 32 hours per week as an LVN while completing my associate degree in nursing (RN). I attended school every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday while working 16-hour weekend double shifts as an LVN at a local nursing home every Saturday and Sunday.

@Commuter You went from LVN to RN in 1 year ? Did you already have your pre-reqs done?

Yes, I slowly completed the prerequisites from the fall of 2006 until late 2007 at a community college system near my home. The actual LPN-to-RN completion program was one year long.

Keep in mind that, although I am originally from CA, I have been living in TX for the past 6 years and attended school in OK. In my opinion, it is much easier for an LPN/LVN to bridge to the RN license in TX and OK than it is in CA.
