Loyola University New Orleans CRNA

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

I created this thread because Loyola University New Orleans has a new CRNA and duel CRNA/AGACNP program. Application is open on nursing cas for both programs and closes April 3rd. The school is in pre-accreditation but on track to admit for August '23, if not at the latest January '24.

Hello guys, I'm unsure if anyone is still active on this forum. However, if anyone is currently in the program and would like to share their experience thus far? Do you know if the school is accredited yet? I saw that there is an initial accreditation; however, I'm not sure if this means they are finally legit if that makes sense. Thanks

Hey guys! I know this is an old thread but does anyone have any insight into the interview style of this program? I want to start reviewing but need a general direction to go in. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on getting an interview; I was told there was a highly competitive pool of applicants this cycle. So, the battle is already halfway won!

Regarding interviewing,

I used this for clinical review.... review, don't cram anything you haven't experienced in your own clinical experience. Anything on your resume is fair game for clinical questions.

For emotional intelligence, I'll advise you to take a personality quiz. But truly, they want to get to know you and see how you handle stress. Be yourself.

These are just suggestions and things I did to prepare for my interview; good luck!

I submitted on Dec. 1st. The application was due on the 15th if I'm not mistaken.

Hi! I'm in the program. It's excellent so far.

I got into three schools and had four interviews, so here is my advice for any CRNA interview. For the interview, I would know your specialty. For example, I have experience in adult and pediatric trauma. I knew everything about burns and trauma- septic shock, hypovolemic shock, TBSA, and blood given in infants/pediatrics—the medications we would provide. I have had some experience in Neuro ICU, but not that much, but I also knew what is essential or the parameters you will look for when caring for any critical patient.

Be confident and yourself!  Also, smile. If you don't know, say you don't know it, or if you need to think about it, say, can we come back at the end? Also, Google questions for CRNA interviews and practice.

Also, what makes you stand out? How can you add to the CRNA profession other than you want autonomy?

For me, it was pediatric and adult patients with difficult airways (burn inhalation, uncuffed ett tubes, etc.) I felt confident bringing that up in my paper, resume, and interview.

I received one no, it conjugated on me taking extra classes and it was my first interview. I felt defeated. My interviewer said I was not ready and needed to take those classes. But I kept going. I went to my other interviews and received three acceptances with that being said, don't give up!

Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding and taking some time out to give me a bit of insight and reassurance. I've started prepping and will definitely add your suggestions to my study plans.
